Water Baptism is a public declaration of an inward decision. It is how we demonstrate that we have decided to follow Jesus Christ for the rest of our lives. As we are immersed in the water and come out of the water, it symbolizes our new beginning in Christ. We believe this to be a significant step in our individual journey of faith. It’s something worthy of not only recognition but celebration!
We will be holding Baptisms on Sunday January 27th during the 6:00pm service. Please confirm via The City or email by Thursday January 24th at 12:00pm.
There is a mandatory Baptism Class at 4:30pm. This class will take place in Room 2.
Here you will be given further direction about why Baptism is important as well as practical instructions on what to expect when being baptized.
The process is simple. Come to service dressed ready for baptism (dark colored loose fitting shorts and dark colored loose fitting T-shirt). You will hear an invitation during service for all those getting baptized to come forward…that’s you! Please bring with you a towel, flip flops, change of clothes for afterwards, and your camera (if you’d like a photo taken).
This is a celebration so feel free to invite family and friends to join in on the occasion. There will be a reception held in your honor with food & beverages for all participants and guest directly after service. We will be “Live Streaming” the baptism online at oasisla.org so feel free to invite friends and family from out of town to tune in!
