Heart for the House
We are only a few months away from moving into our new Oasis Church home! Thanks to the generous and sacrificial giving of our church family, last year we were able to purchase Wilshire Christian Church, a historic landmark located just 2 miles east of our current location on the corner of Wilshire and Normandie.
Our new home is located in the most densely populated area of the West Coast. With over 1000 seats, 1000 parking stalls, and more classrooms, it doubles our capacity to reach people for Jesus.
Heart for the House is about building a church for the generations to come. Renovations are underway to get our church ready for move in. Our Phase 2 Heart for the House goal was to raise $2 million for renovations. We have already raised $1.9 million, so we only have $100,000 to go.
We know that some of our Oasis family can give more, and others less. It’s about all of us coming together, and doing our part. If we do, we will more than reach our goal, and leave a legacy for the generations to come.
PHASE 2 RENOVATIONS
In preparing our home for move in, we are focusing the renovations on 4 important areas – the Worship Center, Oasis Kids Studios, the Underground and bathrooms.
WORSHIP CENTER
- Upgrade the power in the Worship Center. The current power system was installed in the 1920’s.
- Install sound and audio-visual system so everyone can hear and see weekend worship experiences.
- Power-wash the outside of the new church building.
- Install new signage so people know Oasis Church is here to serve our city.
OASIS KIDS STUDIOS
Oasis Kids Studios is the new home of our children’s ministry. The Kids Studios is designed with a Hollywood back lot theme where our children will learn about God in a creative, fun and safe environment.
- Complete renovation of Oasis Kids area for nursery – 5 years old including new paint, walls, floors, air conditioning, cabinets, signage, decor and furniture.
- The area for our elementary and tweens (1-5th grade) will be completed in two phases. For move in, these rooms will have new paint, new floors and decorated for a great experience for our children. We will continue to remodel and improve this area for our children over the next few years.
UNDERGROUND
Below our worship center is a large gathering space that will be used for classes, Connect Groups, Growth Track, Celebrate Recovery and Oasis Youth. This space has a full kitchen, and will be a place to connect before and after every Oasis worship experience.
- Move in renovations include repainting the Underground
- Deep clean of the Underground flooring
- Installation of café area, Resource Center and Information Center
- Furniture and décor to make the Underground a great experience for Oasis Youth, Celebrate Recovery, and weekend worship experiences.
BATHROOMS
Bathrooms are very important, and unfortunately some of the bathrooms in our new facility have not been updated in almost 80 years.
- Complete renovation of original bathrooms with new toilets, new sinks, and new fixtures.
- Building of additional restrooms for men and women, and making them handicap accessible.
