Oasis Internship

Oasis Internship is a catalyst for leadership growth, providing an accredited opportunity to partner alongside the innovative staff of Oasis Church.  Receive hands on ministry training from staff leaders and Pastors in a creative and diverse church, while participating in weekly Discipleship and Leadership development as you are transformed through the power of faith in action. Internship positions are available in the Fall, Spring and Summer.

Schedule

Spring 2012 – Begins February 2, 2012 and ends July 14, 2012.  Application deadline for the Spring Semester is January 23, 2012. Applicants will be interviewed and notified by January 30, 2011.  The program is 24 weeks.

Application Process

Qualifications: 

  • 14 years old and up (our Interns range from Teens to college students to seminary graduates and professionals interested in ministry)
  • Desires to grow in both faith, discipleship and leadership
  • Fully supports the vision of Oasis Church

 All interested applicants are required to submit the Internship Application along with a resume and photo.  Late applications will not be considered.

A select group of applicants will be chosen for the Interview Process.  After the interview process, applicants will be notified if they have been chosen for the Oasis Internship Program.

Weekly Routine & Discipleship Plan

The weekly routine will vary depending on the Intern’s area of ministry and the needs of the specific Intern position.  The Discipleship Plan will include personal and biblical teaching from staff leaders and pastors, opportunities for one-on-one meetings with staff leaders and pastors, teamwork assignments designed for peer-to-peer leadership, prayer, community outreach, and excelling in personal and professional leadership.

During the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters, intern positions will require a time commitment of 20 hours per week (days vary per department), including serving on the weekend.  All interns will have a role that requires them to serve at our weekend services on Saturday and/or Sunday.  Interns will be required to attend all Leadership Meetings (3-4 per year) and weekly Discipleship Classes, assist with assimilation and execute one event as an Intern Team per month (Captains will be designated per event).

If desired Internship position is filled, other options will be presented to potential Interns.

FAQ’S

Can I choose the department or area of ministry I’d like to serve in?

On your application, please state the preferred area of service.  If that desired position is filled, and Intern is accepted into the program, other options will be presented for the Intern to choose from.

Does Oasis Church help Interns with housing?

Currently, Oasis Church does not have housing available for Interns.

Will I receive college credit for my participation in the Oasis Internship Program?

Oasis Internship is an accredited program.  If your college or university offers internship opportunities, we will work directly with your counselors and/or professors to ensure you meet all the necessary requirements.

Is there a cost to the Oasis Internship?

There is a $50.00 investment from the Intern per month that covers curriculum, office space and supplies, events, and Intern outings.
