History of Oasis Church
Oasis began in April of 1984 in a home in Beverly Hills. Starting with less than 10 people, 28 years later, the Oasis now has over 3000 people who attend regularly. We have always had a multicultural congregation and have reached people from all walks of life.
Oasis Church meets at the historic Oasis Theatre located at 5100 Wilshire Blvd in the heart of Los Angeles. The Oasis Theatre was one of the original United Artists theatres. Many movie premiers and gala events were held here and attended by celebrities like Clark Gable, Ronald Coleman and many others. The theatre was purchased by the Oasis in February of 1997 and is undergoing continual renovation.
In July of 1998, a star, similar to the ones seen on Hollywood Blvd., was installed in the sidewalk in front of the theater. It reads - "Jesus Christ - The Son of God". The unveiling of the star was the focus of a spectacular evening which gained international news recognition.
