The heart of the church is the strength of the city

Finishing 2020 with strength in 5 areas as a community.

2020 so far has been one of the most challenging years that the modern world has seen. Some have thrived, but most find themselves at a loss of some form. But the year is not over, and we’re going to finish strong - so that we’re ready to serve our city and reach those who are in need. We believe that the heart of the church is the strength of a city. Join us for the rest of 2020 as we grow in strength. Let’s become LA Strong.

As this unprecedented year is coming to a close, it is more important than ever before that we are rooted in God’s word, and focused on growing in our prayer life.

We know that even while we’re still safe at home it can be hard to find time to set aside to pray and read your Bible, and want to equip you with some tools that will help you grow deeper in your relationship with God. We've put together a resource list below that we pray will be helpful as we end this year LA Strong.

  • Our team would love to pray with you. Please use the “Request Prayer” button above, or visit to request prayer.

  • We are very excited to be hosting two LIVE prayer nights this month for our Oasis at Home Midweek Service.
Join us online Wednesday 11/11 and Wednesday 11/18 at 7:30pm at or on YouTube to pray with us – we will be taking prayer requests live on those nights!

  • The Bible Project contains animated Bible lessons that make The Word come alive, and works to help us engage with the Bible.

  • The Bible App is a free app that contains many different versions of The Bible as well as a myriad of Bible reading plans

  • To help you get started with a Bible reading plan here are two that we suggest:
    The Essential 100
Guides you through 50 Old Testament passages and 50 New Testament passages — The Essential 100 — so you can see the big picture of God’s Word, and form a daily Bible reading habit in the process.
20/20: Seen. Chosen. Sent. By Christine Caine –
This 7-day devotional from Christine Caine will help you discover how God has seen you, chosen you, and sent you to see others and to help them feel seen the way God sees them—with 20/20 vision.

  • December: Community

There is a stigma in our culture surrounding Mental Health. But, it’s something that is important in ALL of our lives. We want to work as a church family to destigmatize working on our Mental Health, together! In October, we focused on taking the next step in our Mental Health journey, and asked the following questions:

Are you okay… Really?
Are you okay… Spiritually?
Are you okay… Mentally?
Are you okay.. Emotionally?

If you are in need of professional help, and it is not currently a financially viable option for you, please reach out to us at

For the month of September, we challenged ourselves in the area of Physical Strength - including Nutrition & Diet. Make sure to follow @OasisLA on social media to stay up to date.

The goal of this month was for all of us to take one step towards physical strength - whatever that step may be! We want to take care of our bodies and live healthier.

Wherever you are on your journey towards physical strength, let’s continue to take the next steps together and celebrate as we grow.

  • WEEK 1 | Nutrition & Diet
  • WEEK 2 | Healthy Habits
  • WEEK 3 | Get Moving
  • WEEK 4 | Body Image

Because of your generosity, we were able to partner with A Place Called Home by donating 500 backpacks to be filled with supplies. We were also able to give 50 backpacks filled with school supplies to Oasis single moms.

We've also been working to get laptops, tablets, and wireless hotspots into the hands of students who need them to succeed as they take on the world of virtual learning.

And, thanks to your continued care for our city, all appointments for our September 4th blood drive with the Red Cross have been filled. As there is always a need in this area, we encourage you to find a different blood drive in your area!
